Japan here I come!

I am very excited right now because I just entered the sweepstakes for the free tickets to Japan! Wish me luck because I really want to go. Ever since I was a little girl I have dreamed about going to Japan and it would definitely be amazing if I was able to win.

All the way to Timbuktu

Often times it is the stories in our childhood that help shape our own interests throughout our lives. In my case it was my parent’s stories about living in Africa…specifically Burkina Faso. My parents were missionaries in Burkina Faso for six years and they would tell me stories about road trips that they took to places such as Timbuktu or about how they got lost in the Sahara Desert. Their life seemed rough but at the same time like an adventure. Deep down I know that I’m always on a quest to have my own adventure, one that I can share with my own children. So far I’ve been on some amazing trips but I still have that feeling like I’m waiting for that adventure or that one amazing trip. I guess a question that I have to ask myself is: Will I ever truly have that adventure or will I always be looking for a new one?  If I am anything like my parents then I will always have a desire to see another corner of the world and experience a culture very different from my own.
